The Best Dishes in Brisbane
The Best Dishes to Eat in Brisbane According to Yelp
Brisbane is a delightful small town nestled on the side of San Bruno Mountain. While many residents of the Bay Area have no idea we exist, Brisbane restaurants offer incredible food worth a dedicated trip. To save you time researching, we’ve scoured yelp reviews for some of the most highly-rated dishes. Listed in no particular order – these bites are sure to please.
Hamachi Truffle – Ichika Sushi House
Ichika Sushi House is a standout Japanese restaurant with inventive rolls, fresh sashimi and nigiri, elevated appetizers, and generous bowls of ramen and udon. Waits for a table at dinnertime are common but completely worth it. There are plenty of outdoor tables and heat lamps to keep you warm. Ichika is open Monday-Saturday for lunch from 11:30 am-2 pm, every day for dinner from 5 pm – 9:30 pm, except on Fridays and Saturdays, they close at 10 pm. Their address is 118 Old County Road.
The standout dish in their yelp reviews is the Hamachi Truffle, which their website describes as sashimi of “yellowtail with jalapeño, avocado, truffle oil, and house sauce.”

Here’s what Yelp reviewers have to say:
Amy T: “Hamachi Truffle:10/10 – Literally mouthwatering. The truffle oil definitely elevates this dish. Would recommend this to everyone.”
Ivy C: “Their hamachi truffle was literally sooo good! A must-get when you stop by. Not only was their sushi perfection but their service was amazing!”
Olivia L: “The omakase & hamachi were AMAZING! The raw fish tasted so buttery & melted in your mouth – no soy sauce or wasabi was even needed for any flavor. The freshness & good quality of fish was very apparent.”
Benson W: “The Hamachi truffle was hands down the best item on the menu. All the ingredients used just blended perfectly setting my taste buds into a frenzy!”
Pork Adobo – 7 Mile House
Celebrating its 164th anniversary, 7 Mile House has survived two pandemics and is still kicking. Known for their classic Filipino fare and American favorites, 7 Mile has something for everyone, even dogs! They have ample outdoor seating with heat lamps and a fire pit. 7 Mile House is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:30 am – 8 pm and Friday-Saturday from 11:30 pm – 9 pm. They are closed on Tuesdays. Their address is 2800 Bayshore Boulevard.
Yelpers rave about their Pork Adobo, which 7 Mile’s menu describes as: “prepared 7 Mile style, this classic Filipino dish is made with tender pork marinated in soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, herbs, and spices, topped with sautéed garlic and served with steamed Jasmine rice.”

Here’s what Yelp reviewers have to say:
Marrian G: “Pork Adobo was fire, great service, great food, will come back! Tastes as good as homemade adobo.”
Dora G: “I’ve been here a few times and I ordered the pork adobo every time. The pork adobo lives up to its hype, such a big portion and super flavorful!”
Jillian L: “I got the adobo this time & it was so flavorful! Taste just like my grandma used to make it!”
Anna L: “Pork Adobo (10/10): I would definitely come back for the pork adobo. The meat literally melts in your mouth. My SO and I fought over the fatty parts (the BEST). The jasmine rice and sauce were very complimentary ? No picture because we tasted it and couldn’t stop eating it.”
Yokohama Chicken Sandwich – Brisbane Lunch Truck
Situated alongside the Brisbane Lagoon in the park-and-ride lot on Bayshore Blvd, the Brisbane Lunch Truck serves up burgers, sandwiches, and other comfort foods with a unique twist. All of their seating is outdoors at picnic tables with views of the Bay. The BLT is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 am – 4 pm. Their address is 3501 Bayshore Boulevard.
The highest-rated item according to Yelp on BLT’s menu is their Yokohama Chicken Sandwich. Their menu describes the sandwich as “ginger and garlic marinated chicken thigh meat, lightly battered and fried, with sesame and wasabi mayo.”

Here’s what Yelp reviewers have to say:
Paolo B: “First off, they use chicken thigh meat which is always my preference. It’s dipped tempura batter and lightly fried. The chicken was moist and delicious. The sesame slaw and wasabi Mayo elevate this sandwich and sets it apart from anything I’ve eaten before. The slaw adds a nice acidity and oh so good. 10/10 recommend trying this chicken sandwich.”
Jay T: “THE best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. YOKOHAMA! Did not regret the u-turn I did to check this place out. Absolutely good! Not to mention how awesome is the service.”
Vanessa P: “I’ve never ran to Yelp so fast! Best chicken sandwich ever. At first, glance thought it was pricey but so worth it. Everything is so fresh and the service is impeccable.”
Leslie N: “I ate the Yokohama chicken sandwich. Let me just say I was in heaven. The light sweet wasabi sauce on the slaw in the sandwich was to DIE for. I chicken was perfectly crispy, the bread, the side garlic chips were all a perfect combination. My palate was having a party in my mouth. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place, especially the dish I had. SOOOOOOO YUM!”
