I had a difficult process. My brother died suddenly with no official will and no designated executor. He lived very much like a hoarder, with junk, valuables, unopened mail, trash, etc. piled everywhere in his small home and garage. He had tax issues, delinquent mortgage, numerous creditors and significant hospital bills. The house had cosmetic, electrical, permit and structural issues. I live in Southern California with health issues of my own. Managing the transition of the house into something sellable, moving out roommates, protecting assets , cleanout and painting were all challenges that were difficult to manage from afar. On every level Ron helped me, often functioning as my personal representative. He staged the house in miraculous fashion and I received multiple offers immediately after the initial showing. I got a good price with no contingencies. We closed in under 30 days. Selling a home in the Bay Area market is not terribly difficult at this time, but the extenuating circumstances preparing to sell this one were extensive.
