James Ball believes that a home is so much more than four walls and a roof. It’s a place that provides shelter and comfort, a place for family and friends to congregate and commune, a place to raise children and pets, and a place in which to create lifelong memories.
James was first bitten by the real estate bug when he purchased his first home in 2004, an extremely competitive time in the Bay Area market. After some false starts and multiple unsuccessful offers, he serendipitously met the person who would go on to successfully represent him and realized how critical it is to have an experienced, capable agent at your side. Following a fruitful career in accounting and finance, most recently as vice president of finance at a nonprofit dedicated to helping the homeless achieve permanent housing and self-sufficiency, James decided to pursue his license and made real estate his full-time career.
James’ accounting and business background is the backbone of his holistic approach. He understands that a real estate transaction involves both the tangible and the intangible: It is not only one of the most significant financial decisions that most of us will ever make, it can also be a very emotional and challenging time in our lives. Empathy and compassion are at the center of the partnerships James forms with his clients, and he demonstrates integrity, efficiency, and trust throughout every relationship.
Born and raised in Washington State, James has called the Bay Area home for the past 25 years. He has lived in many different neighborhoods in San Francisco, the Peninsula, and the East Bay and resides in Brisbane, where he has been an active community member for the past 16 years. James delights in the diversity of culture that living here provides, enjoys hiking, is a voracious reader, and has the most eclectic taste in music of anyone you will ever know. Most of his free time is spent with his husband, William, and doting on Ella, his Australian Shepherd.
