A Weekend In Brisbane

by Ron on June 12, 2008

The weather this weekend past was warm and overall the mood was relaxed. On Friday night Mission Blue was alive with activity. David L. Brown a local, Emmy award winning filmmaker presented two of his films, Amazing: The Rebuilding of the MacArthur Maze and The Bridge So Far – A Suspense Story. If you haven’t seen these films you should really check them out. I think Brisbane Video on Visitacion has copies along with other David L. Brown films. Also on hand were Jerry Kuhel and Bob Mannion who entertained the crowd by playing a few tunes on their guitars and infused some comedy. This was “small town” at it’s best.

 A Weekend In Brisbane

On Saturday Madhouse Coffee was jumping with a private birthday party in the garden including a wine tasting presented by “The Traveling Vineyard” and later in the day Nancy Coleman and Alex Reisman provided musical ambiance from 4-6pm for about 20-30 people in the coffee house. They always draw a crowd with their presence.
